EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE (2014-2015)

Intra Collegiate Cultural Festival- FESTEMBER ‘15
  • Intra Collegiate Cultural Festival “Festember’15” was organized on 27th and 28th February 2015 in the College. Around 900 students from all the departments participated. Competitions with 30 events like Rangoli, Nail Art, Face Painting, Culinary, Hair Dressing, and Fancy Dress, Choreography, Mehandhi, Bluff Master, etc., were conducted. The function was inaugurated by the Dr. (Tmt) R.Rajarajeswari, Principal and that was followed by the cultural rally. The winners of cultural rally were awarded with shields. Department of English, Department of History and Department of Mathematics won the- I, II and III Prize respectively in the Cultural Rally. The department of English Won the overall shield. The department of English (SF) and the Department of Mathematics were the Ist Runner-up & IInd Runner-up respectively.
Participation of Students in the Inter-Collegiate Competitions:
  • 23 Students of Sri Parasakthi College for Women participated in the National level Cultural Festival FORZA’15 held at Kalasalingam University, Krishnankoil, Srivilliputhur on 2nd March 2015. Our College won the Overall Shield and cash award around Rs.7000 for winning in various competitions. They won the first prize in Fashion Show and Rangoli, second prize in Hair Do, Art from Waste and Treasure Hunt, Third Prize in Instrumental Solo and Pot painting.

  • Intra Collegiate Cultural Festival “Festember’13” was organized on 12th and 13th September 2014 in the College. Around 350 students from all the departments participated. Competition with 30 events like Rangoli, Nail Art, Face Painting, Culinary, Hair Dressing, and Golden Jubilee Festia’13(Fashion Parade), Imitation Dance, Mehandhi, Bluff Master, etc., were conducted. The function was inaugurated by the Dr.O.AnandaValli, Principal followed by the cultural rally. The winners of cultural rally were awarded with shields. The department of English won the overall shield. The department of chemistry was the runner up
National Level Inter Collegiate Cultural Festival – TvakSas Vrnda’14.
  • Inter Collegiate Cultural Festival “TvakSas Vrnda’14” was organized on 26th and 27th February 2014 in the College. Around 250 students from 16 Colleges participated. Competitions with 20 events like Rangoli, Nail Art, Face Painting, Photography, Imitation Dance, Mehandhi, Bluff Master, Mime, Style Check, Ad-mad, Discussion Forum etc., were conducted. The function was inaugurated by the Thiru. Anbumani, Secretary followed by the cultural rally. The winners of cultural rally were awarded with shields. MDT Hindu College, Tirunelveli, Anja College, Sivakasi and PSG Arts and Science College, Coimbatore won the first, second, and third prize in the cultural rally. MDT Hindu College, Tirunelveli won the overall trophy. S.T.Hindu College, Nagercoil was the runner up. Vijay TV Actor Raju and Actor &Orator Kalaimamani Dr.G.Gnana Sambandan were the special invitees.
Participation of Students in the Inter-Collegiate Competitions:
  • 25 Students Participated in the State level Inter-Collegiate Meet “Suvadugal’13 held at Lady Doak College, Madurai on 31st August 2013. Students participated in all the events and received certificates.
  • 25 Students of Sri Parasakthi College for Women participated in the State level Cultural Festival FANTASIA’14 held at Virudhunagar Hindu Nadars’ Senthikumara Nadar College (Autonomous), Virudhunagar on 13th and 14th February 2014. They won the first prize in painting, second prize in Quiz and Face painting.

  • 20 Students Participated in the State level Inter-Collegiate Meet on Revel in Romantics- Mannar Fest 2013 held at Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai on 2nd March 2013. G.Vidhyalakshmi of III B.A English won the first Prize in Verse Writing.
  • 25 Students of Sri Parasakthi College for Women participated in the State level Cultural Festival FANTASIA’13 held at Virudhunagar Hindu Nadars’ Senthikumara Nadar College (Autonomous), Virudhunagar on 13th and 14th March 2013. They won the first prize in poetry writing, vegetable carving, mimicry, skit and mono acting and second prize in western dance, folk dance, instrumental music and painting. The Team won the Overall shield of the competition.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE (2011-2012)

  • Intra Collegiate Cultural Festival ‘Festember 2011’ was organized with competition in 35 events on 5th, 6th and 8th December 2011. All departments participated. The department of English won the overall shield. The departments of Commerce and Chemistry were Runner up I & II respectively.
  • Chutti Creations Competition organized by Chutti Vikatan. 359 Students of our college participated and won prizes.
  • Ms. S. Karthika, Youth coordinator was nominated as the Advisory Committee Member to 19th Youth Festival of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli.
  • Ms.Gunapriyadarshini, III BSc Maths has represented Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in the Inter University Youth Festival (South Zonal) at Sathiyabama University, Chennai. (18-22 Dec 2011).
Participation in the Seminars/Workshops/Competitions:
  • Ms. S.Karthika, Youth Coordinator Participated in one day Workshop for the Youth Coordinators of the affiliated Colleges held on 11th August 2011 at Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli.
  • Ms. Yasmin, II B.Sc Maths, Ms. Essaikiammal, II B.A. English &Ms. Vidhya lakshmi, II B.A. English participated in the State Level Inter-Collegiate Elocution Competition on 11th September 2011 held at Bishop Herber College, Trichy.
  • Ms. D.Keerthika, III B.C.A & Ms. V. Divya, III B.A English Participated in the Three days Residential Workshop in “Leadership Qualities” from 17th to 19th August 2011 held at Gramodhaya Social Service Centre, Vittilapuram Vilakku, Seithunganallur, Tirunelveli organized by Department of Youth Welfare, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University.
  • Ms.S.Karthika, Youth Coordinator Participated in 2 day Workshop on “Enhancing the Employability Skills and Personality Development of Students” for the Youth coordinators and placement officers on 20.02.2012 and 21.02.2012 at Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli.

  • 11 Students Participated in Inter-Collegiate Competition held at Sri Parasakthi School, Surandai on 4th September 2011 organized by Mahatma Gandhi Educational Trust, Surandai. Our College Won the Over All Shield and Received the “BEST COLLEGE AWARD”.
  • Ms. Monisha, II B.A. English & Ms. Alagu Jeyalakshmi, II B.A. English Participated in the Fancy Dress Competition of Saraal Thiruvizha on 27th July 2011 at Courtallam Kalaivanar Arangam.
  • 25 Students Participated in the 19th Youth Festival of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli on 1st and 2nd October 2011. More than 52 colleges from three districts participated. Guna Priyadharshini, III B.Sc Maths won the Third Prize in Mimicry & also gave a Special Performance in the valedictory function and others received the participation certificates.
  • 18 Students Participated in University Level Inter-Collegiate Competition- Gac Fest 2012 held at Govindammal Aditanar College for Women, Tiruchendur on 25th January 2012. Our College won prizes in 4 events. First place in Group Western Dance and Indian Ink Painting. Second Prize in Rangoli and Third prize in Verse Writing (English).
  • 12 Students Participated in State level Inter-Collegiate Competition-Narthana‘12 held at Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam on 23rd February 2012.
  • 13 Students Participated in State Level Inter-Collegiate Competition- Fisfest 2012 held at Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi on 24th February 2012. Our College won prizes in 2 events. First place in Solo Western Dance and Second Prize in Individual Talent.
  • 15 Students Participated in Inter-Collegiate Competition- STECO FEST 2012 organized by Sterlite Copper, Thoothukudi and Suriyan FM, Tirunelveli for College students of Arts & Engineering Colleges from Districts of Tuticorin and Tirunelveli held at Infant Jesus College of Engineering at Vallanadu on 4th March 2012.
  • 10 Students Participated in University Level Inter-Collegiate Theatrics Competition Dr.B.Sivanthi Aditanar Rolling Cup 2012 held at Aditanar College of Arts and Science, Tiruchendur on 10th March 2012. Our College won prizes in 3 events. First prize in Mime& Skit and Third Prize in Variety programme. The team won the overall Runner up Rolling Cup of the Competition.
